The Imperial is a neighborhood pub located in the Oakhurst community of Decatur, GA. Since opening in December 2013, the restaurant has developed a large and loyal following. Part of the charm is the brick-walled building the restaurant occupies as well as the beautiful hand-hewn bar. The Imperial features Southern comfort and typical bar food with a twist. The menu features a host of appetizers including black-eyed pea dip and la poutine de Georgia (french fries doused with gravy and pimento cheese), but guests will also find wings, sandwiches, and burgers as well.
Owner Robert Holland turned to GIK Acoustics to help dampen the noise in the dining room and bar. The results are visually subtle yet highly effective noise reduction using custom sized Spot Panels.
During renovation an old advertisement was discovered behind the plaster. The wall was cut open to create a doorway into the dining room, but the owners turned a photo of the original wall into a GIK Acoustics ArtPanel.
It was a pleasure working with the great guys at The Imperial and we wish them continued success.
