Our Impression Series Corner Bass Traps are constructed with a sturdy frame designed to fit into any corner. Traps are made of a solid core of eco-friendly absorption material, wrapped in your choice of fabric, and finished with a decorative semi-reflective plate which adds scattering for a professional sounding room.

Suggested Placement

Low end sound waves collect in corners where room boundaries meet. The amount of bass buildup in different corners can vary due to things like monitor and subwoofer placement as well as room structure. Corners should be treated with bass traps to temper low frequencies and sharpen bass.

Designed to fit in any corner, the Impression Series Corner Bass Traps – also known as corner sound absorbers – are stackable and freestanding. Impression Series Corner Bass traps are a stylish option for wall-to-wall corners as the low-profile fits snugly for full floor-to-ceiling coverage. Impression Series Corner Bass Traps can also be used in wall-to-ceiling corners or can rest horizontally in wall-to-floor corners.

GIK Acoustics Corner CT Alpha Bass Trap

The tests were carried out in the large reverberation room at the University of Salford (Manchester England). The room has been designed with hard surfaces and non-parallel walls to give long empty room reverberation times with uniform decays.

The GIK Acoustics Tri-Trap Corner Bass Trap© and Corner CT Alpha Bass Trap are intended to be freestanding or stacked floor-to-ceiling. However, if you wish to mount a Tri-Trap or Corner CT in a wall-to-wall corner, we recommend using L brackets on the side walls so the bass trap sits atop the bracket like a shelf. Note that you can’t drill into the Tri-Trap or Corner CT frame.

The Tri-Trap and Corner CT can also be mounted in the wall-to-ceiling corners using four L brackets: two placed on the ceiling and two placed on the wall to hold the bass trap into place. GIK Acoustics products are beyond simple do-it-yourself panels that are found on the market today. We start with only the highest-quality materials that will not sag or leak over time, then we build every panel by hand employing a unique two-frame system.

Unlike other companies who use inexpensive materials, GIK Acoustics panels are crafted with quality insulation material, fabrics and hardwood plywoods. We start with absorptive insulation material that is intended for room acoustics – not cheap mineral wool whose main purpose is to insulate a ship’s engine room.

We then use carefully selected hardwood plywoods – not cheap imports – to construct our frames. The difference and chief advantage is dimensional stability. Crossbanded layers and balanced construction mean that hardwood plywood won’t shrink, swell or warp as much as lumber. To finish our panels we offer an array of fine fabrics – from our standard 9 options to the full line of Guilford of Maine panel fabrics.

GIK Acoustics products are not only Greensafe, but they carry a Class A fire rating which means we continue to provide our clients with the safest most effective products available.
