Many studios, home theaters and listening rooms make do with foam wedges in corners which are unattractive and far less efficient in sound wave absorption than acoustic panels. Our dedicated sound engineers have developed a more attractive and effective product – the GIK Acoustics Demi TRI-TRAP Corner Bass Trap.

The Demi Tri-Trap is an effective corner bass traps and takes up less floor space because it is able to fit in the corners of a room. Constructed with a solid core, the Demi Tri-Trap is a 23.5″ tall, freestanding triangular prism able to hold up to 20 pounds in weight.

The Demi Tri-Trap, has been effectively designed to absorb more low end, but also does an excellent job of absorbing the high end, creating smooth sound absorption from 50 Hz to 5000 Hz. Installing the Demi Tri-Traps will result in a beautifully balanced room that will suit even the most critical listener.

Riverbank Acoustical Laboratories (RAL)^TM has been accredited under the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP). The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) administers the NVLAP program. Mounting a Tri-Trap Corner Bass Trap© or Corner CT Alpha Bass Trap

The GIK Acoustics Tri-Trap Corner Bass Trap© and Corner CT Alpha Bass Trap are intended to be freestanding or stacked floor-to-ceiling. However, if you wish to mount a Tri-Trap or Corner CT in a wall-to-wall corner, we recommend using L brackets on the side walls so the bass trap sits atop the bracket like a shelf. Note that you can’t drill into the Tri-Trap or Corner CT frame.

The Tri-Trap and Corner CT can also be mounted in the wall-to-ceiling corners using four L brackets: two placed on the ceiling and two placed on the wall to hold the bass trap into place. GIK Acoustics products are beyond simple do-it-yourself panels that are found on the market today. We start with only the highest-quality materials that will not sag or leak over time, then we build every panel by hand employing a unique two-frame system.

Unlike other companies who use inexpensive materials, GIK Acoustics panels are crafted with quality insulation material, fabrics and hardwood plywoods. We start with absorptive insulation material that is intended for room acoustics – not cheap mineral wool whose main purpose is to insulate a ship’s engine room.

We then use carefully selected hardwood plywoods – not cheap imports – to construct our frames. The difference and chief advantage is dimensional stability. Crossbanded layers and balanced construction mean that hardwood plywood won’t shrink, swell or warp as much as lumber. To finish our panels we offer an array of fine fabrics – from our standard 9 options to the full line of Guilford of Maine panel fabrics.

GIK Acoustics products are not only Greensafe, but they carry a Class A fire rating which means we continue to provide our clients with the safest most effective products available. The Class A fire rating means that GIK Acoustics treatments have received the highest rating possible under the ASTM E84, a test used by code officials and regulatory agencies in the acceptance of interior finish materials.
